We develop two- and six-row short vegetation cycle spring barley varieties.
Our breeding of spring barley is focused on early varieties who´s main markets are Northern Sweden, Finland, Norway and the Baltics. In our breeding station in Lännäs in Northern Sweden we breed barley of both two row and six row type.
Testing of the varieties takes place in different locations, in Sweden as well as with partners in other countries. The breeding is focused on producing feed barley varieties with good agronomic characteristics. Early maturity is naturally an important trait, but also higher yield, good disease resistance and good straw characteristics.
We have great success with varieties such as SW JUDITH, ANNELI, KANNAS and ARILD in the northern European and Baltic markets.
